Certificación de la playa de Chacala
Playa Chacala en Nayarit ha sido certificada como playa limpia. Ha obtenido la certificación de playas limpias, lo que significa que cumple con los criterios de sustentabilidad establecidos para la protección del medio ambiente en las playas turísticas.
Creación del proyecto “Techos de México” (1995)
Se otorgaron créditos sin intereses para que pobladores construyeran viviendas con un cuarto en renta para turistas. La mitad de los ingresos era para el dueño y la otra mitad regresaba al fondo hasta saldar el crédito, creando así una red de microempresarios con el programa Techo de México.
“Creo en el turismo como un agente de verdadero intercambio humano. El trabajo conjunto de visitantes y visitados por una meta común enriquece a ambas partes. Lo vivido hasta ahora en los talleres de construcción son muestra de ello. Para los voluntarios, la experiencia no termina con el taller. Chacala y sus familias seguirán siendo una familia y una casa conocida en dónde vacacionar en México. Estoy seguro que estos "turistas responsables" creen verdaderamente en el eslogan "Lo mejor de México es la sonrisa de su gente".

* Festival de Observación de Aves (enero).

* Creación y Patrocinador oficial del Festival Internacional de Cine de Guanajuato en Chacala. La primera edición se realizó en diciembre del 2023.

Chacala Beach Certification
Chacala Beach in Nayarit has been certified as a clean beach. This means it meets the sustainability criteria established to protect the environment in tourist coastal areas.
Creation of the “Techos de México” Project (1995)
Interest-free loans were granted to local residents to build homes with a rental room for tourists. Half of the income would go to the homeowner, while the other half would return to the fund until the loan was repaid—creating a network of microentrepreneurs through the Techo de México program.
"I believe in tourism as a true agent of human exchange. The joint effort of visitors and hosts working toward a shared goal enriches both parties. The experiences during our construction workshops prove this. For volunteers, the impact goes far beyond the workshop. Chacala and its families remain a home and a family to return to in Mexico. I’m confident that these 'responsible tourists' genuinely believe in the slogan: The best of Mexico is the smile of its people.”
